Shi Lab Meetings
Shi Lab hosts an open, sign-up-based series where any HAAG member can present a topic. Sessions are recorded and shared in the general Slack channel, so the audience extends well beyond a single project or unit.
It also functions as an initiative to continuously improve HAAG itself: a standing venue where initiative leads and admins share progress and get feedback from the broader community. Topics can be anything relevant to HAAG: research findings and technical work, or HAAG operations and initiatives.
How it works
- Sign up for an open time slot.
- Post a brief description of your topic in the general Slack channel the Monday of the week you’re presenting.
- Each slot is an hour: plan for 30 to 45 minutes of content, leaving room for questions.
- Bring slides, a demo, or both.
Because sessions get recorded and distributed broadly, presenters are asked to frame their topic with enough context and big-picture motivation that someone outside the project can follow it.
Why it’s worth it
- Visibility for your work: a chance for your project to present to the wider HAAG community, not just your own unit
- Insight into HAAG itself: a way to learn about the operations and initiatives shaping how your project is supported
